Motor Purge
Expo MiniPurge CLAPS systems are designed to change the pressurized enclosure (motor) internals from a Zone 1 (2) or Class I Division 1 (2) to a safe area. These systems are constructed to comply with European, International, United States, and Brazilian standards. By measuring pressure and flow of compressed air or inert gas, the system pressurizes an enclosure, clears (purges) the hazardous gases from the enclosure, and then maintains a positive pressure in order to keep those gases from returning. CLAPS (Closed Loop Automatic Pressure System) monitors the variation of the internal pressure and automatically increases or decreases the pressure to maintain a constant pressure on start-up or when running. MiniPurge CLAPS units are fully automatic; they have timers and control signals that will apply and disengage power based on the conditions reported by the purge system. Expo X-Purge units are certified by IECEx, ATEX, INMETRO. The MiniPurge CLAPS line from Expo is designed for enclosures of all sizes.
