Motor Purge

Expo MiniPurge motor systems are designed to purge (flush) potentially flammable gases and vapors from large motor enclosures, and to then maintain a positive internal pressure to prevent re-entry of that flammable atmosphere. These systems are designed and certified to international standards for worldwide application: IECEx, ATEX, INMETRO, cUL. Expo systems incorporates CLAPS (Closed Loop Automatic Pressure System) control, to prevent inadvertent motor tripping through internal pressure fluctuations on start-up or through cooling fan cycles. The motor enclosure is also protected against accidental overpressure through a patented Relief Valve. Generally configured for fully automatic operation, Expo systems have timers (pneumatic or electronic) and output signals to apply and disengage power based on the conditions reported by the purge system. As standard, motor purge systems operate between -20 and +50 DegC, and a Low Temperature option is available for operation down to -50 DegC.
