Installing and running electrical equipment in a hazardous environment represents a high risk and complex problem; choosing appropriate protection is an integral part of safe operation. In addition to the practical requirements, it is essential that the systems installed are correctly certified and comply with all relevant standards. Expo Technologies’ engineering department provide the solutions which will both minimise the risk and allow the efficient attainment of the appropriate certification.
Expo Technologies have an experienced team of project engineers who have a background in both electrical and mechanical engineering and full training in hazardous environment protection techniques. The Level of experience within the Expo team allows expeditious identification of client requirements and innovative application of engineering principles to provide an appropriate protection system. Examples of such systems include:
Custom Pressurized Enclosures
Expo offers a range of pressurized enclosures, either standard which come in a wide range of sizes or customised to meet the individual needs of the customer. Whatever the customisation requirements, an engineer will be allocated to the project who will work with the client to design a unique solution, whether this is a pressurized enclosure or a turnkey project delivering a complete, unique, system including supply and installation of all equipment.
Custom Purge Systems
Customised purge control systems are frequently designed for use in HV Motor Systems or for the OEM market; again the project engineer will work in close contact with the client to produce a solution which accommodates any specific requirements and produce a tailored solution.
Whatever the requirement, Expo’s Engineering team offers a project management service, which includes: requirements capture and selection of appropriate protection, design, manufacture and supply of a hazardous environment protection system to match the customer’s unique requirements.
Expo holds a variety of certificates which allow a multitude of pre-approved solutions to be supplied, however if the production of such a customised system will require a new set of certificates of compliance; the engineering team, in addition to utilising their own extensive knowledge will work closely with the Consultation and Certification team at all stages to ensure that the product will be compliant and acquisition of the relevant certification will be as straightforward and possible.
