As part of the post Brexit transition process, manufacturers of equipment of hazardous areas selling into the UK are required to align with a new accreditation system, UKCA. This transition process is taking place during 2021, and manufacturers must have completed the process by December 31st.
As a first and significant step, Expo has received its UKCA QAN. The QAN (Quality Assurance Notification) involves the continuous monitoring of systems and processes in relation to those Ex products and requires periodic audit of the manufacturing process by a qualified auditor.
The process to obtain product level UKCA certifications has been in progress for several months, and all certifications will be in place before the end of the year.
All of our current ATEX certifications and authorisation to use the CE mark for products sold into the EU will continue unchanged.
