Expo Process Analytics have recently designed and manufactured a multi PAT powder stream conditioning chute for use in characterising product in development scale Continuous Manufacturing. The Spectrum Multi-Probe Chute is designed to provide optimum interfacing for several sensors, so that they can be used in sequence to collect high quality data on the same process stream.
The platform serves as a mechanism by which multiple PAT technologies may be evaluated simultaneously, economising on API use in development. This system houses a particle imaging system and associated window cleaning mechanism, a Raman probe and customised sample presentation wheel and a NIR spectrometer employing a spider wheel. Both wheel designs serve to also clean their respective PAT probes and ensure the best possible conditions for measurement. The chute has been designed to avoid the interference or cross talk between PAT measurement types.
The system is designed and manufactured in accordance to the Machine Directive for safety, and includes interlocking for laser safety and operator safety. The system is CE marked and has a full declaration of conformity.
Materials of construction are fully traceable, and FDA and EC Directive compliant for cGMP use. All devices in the system may be configured independently via an intuitive touch screen interface.
