Project Brief

Provide a complete Ex p solution with power isolation for an existing system requiring FM approval for flammable filling duty.

Challenges

• Customer's typical environment is heavily laden with solvent fumes
• Provide a purge and pressurization system meeting international certifications as well as FM
• Easy integration of a purge and pressurization system to their system
• Requirement for minimal operator interactions and maintenance
• Long service life and minimal downtime
• Full power isolation capability in the event of system fault

Outcome

• Expo was able to provide a cost-effective, off-the-shelf solution, comprising
  • A standard X-Purge system with electronic timer was utilised to accurately control the required purge time for the system
  • A MiniPurge Interface Unit (MIU) was utilised to provide for automatic system energisation once the purge cycle is completed, as well as automatic power isolation in the case of any loss of pressure in the pressurized system
